Where several radial holes form an air-distribution pattern, their angular position and passage cleanliness require careful inspection. Partial blockage, burrs or incorrect alignment may interfere with the airflow entering the nozzle assembly.
Critical inspection points include the fit between the inner bore and nozzle body, concentricity of the cylindrical surfaces, distance between each radial hole, remaining wall thickness around the holes and smoothness of the internal passage.
Machining burrs and chips should be removed to prevent them from entering the compressed-air path or obstructing installation. The end faces should also be checked for flatness when they are used as positioning or sealing surfaces.
For batch orders, first-piece inspection, process sampling and final inspection can be applied to control the consistency of the bore, hole pattern, wall thickness and overall length. The radial holes and internal air passages should be checked regularly because concrete residue, accelerator deposits and other contaminants may gradually reduce the effective airflow area. Cleaning methods should avoid damaging the hole geometry or enlarging the original ports.
The sleeve should be replaced when excessive wear, cracking, deformation, loose fitting or blocked passages affect the nozzle assembly. Replacement frequency depends on the material grade, concrete mixture, operating pressure, cleaning method and daily working time.
