Material grade and food-contact documentation should be confirmed according to the intended application.
Food Grade Nylon Rod is a natural or white polyamide round bar manufactured from a grade intended for use in food-processing, packaging and beverage-handling equipment. It can be machined into wear-resistant, lightweight and corrosion-resistant components used in conveying, guiding, supporting and positioning applications.
Depending on the required properties and manufacturing process, the base material may be PA6, PA66, cast nylon or another specified polyamide grade. The exact resin type, additives and food-contact declaration should be confirmed before ordering. White color alone does not prove that an ordinary nylon rod is suitable for direct food contact.

Food Grade Nylon Rod can be processed by CNC turning, milling, drilling, boring, cutting, grooving, tapping and chamfering. Our CNC Plastic Machining service supports sample production and batch machining according to drawings, physical samples and equipment requirements.
Suitable cutting tools and controlled machining parameters should be used to limit heat generation and deformation. Sharp tools and effective chip removal can help achieve cleaner machined surfaces, especially on parts used in equipment that requires regular cleaning.
Nylon absorbs moisture from the surrounding environment, which may influence the dimensions of precision components. Working temperature, humidity, assembly clearance and cleaning conditions should therefore be considered when determining the finished tolerance.
