Green Food Grade UHMWPE/HDPE Sheet is an engineering plastic panel designed for food-processing, packaging, conveying and material-handling equipment requiring low water absorption, corrosion resistance and convenient machining.
UHMWPE grades provide excellent wear resistance, high impact strength, low friction and self-lubricating performance. HDPE grades provide practical rigidity, toughness and chemical resistance for equipment panels, support plates, cutting surfaces and general food-machinery components.
Green sheets are available in custom dimensions and thicknesses. Cutting, drilling, planing, grooving, milling and CNC machining can be completed according to drawings. Food-contact suitability must be confirmed through the selected resin, pigment, additives and applicable compliance documents.
Green Food Grade UHMWPE/HDPE Sheet is an engineering plastic panel developed for food-processing, beverage, packaging, conveying and material-handling equipment. Depending on the operating conditions, the product can be manufactured from ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene or high-density polyethylene.
UHMWPE is generally selected for applications requiring excellent wear resistance, high impact strength, low friction and self-lubricating performance. HDPE is commonly selected for equipment panels, support plates, cutting surfaces and structural plastic components requiring useful rigidity, toughness, low water absorption and chemical resistance.
The green sheet can be supplied as a complete molded panel, cut-to-size plate, narrow guide strip, wear component, support block or finished CNC-machined part. Length, width, thickness, mounting holes, slots, grooves, steps and outside profiles can be processed according to customer drawings.

Green Food Grade UHMWPE/HDPE Sheet is a polyethylene engineering plastic product manufactured using a selected resin, pigment and additive formulation intended for use in food-processing or food-handling equipment.
The term “food grade” should not be determined by color or material name alone. The complete formulation, including the base resin, green pigment, stabilizers, processing aids and any other additives, must be appropriate for the intended food-contact conditions.
Food-contact suitability may depend on the food type, contact temperature, contact duration, cleaning chemicals, repeated-use conditions and the regulations of the destination market. These requirements should be confirmed before production.
The green appearance can be used for production-area identification, equipment color management or visual separation between different components. However, green color alone does not prove compliance with FDA, EU or any other food-contact requirement.
Food-grade UHMWPE is generally selected for moving and sliding components exposed to repeated wear. Its low-friction working surface can help products move more smoothly and reduce direct contact between conveyed products and metal equipment.
Typical UHMWPE components include conveyor guide rails, chain guides, wear strips, sliding plates, star wheels, product-transfer guides, support blocks and packaging-machinery parts.
Food-grade HDPE is commonly selected for equipment panels, cutting surfaces, support plates, spacers, machine guards, backing panels and general structural plastic components.
HDPE generally provides greater rigidity than UHMWPE, while UHMWPE is normally preferred for more demanding sliding, impact and abrasive-wear conditions.
UHMWPE and HDPE should not be treated as completely interchangeable materials. The appropriate option should be selected according to:
The UHMWPE option is suitable for components exposed to continuous sliding, repeated rubbing and abrasive product movement. It can be used with cartons, bottles, packages, food containers, grains, powders and other conveyed materials.
Actual service life depends on the selected grade, sliding speed, contact pressure, mating material, operating temperature and equipment design.
UHMWPE provides high toughness and is suitable for guides, stops, buffer components and equipment parts exposed to repeated impact or vibration.
HDPE also provides useful impact resistance for machine panels and general equipment components, although its performance is not identical to UHMWPE.
The smooth UHMWPE surface helps reduce sliding resistance between conveyed products and equipment components. This can support smoother movement and help reduce product scratching, drag, sticking and direct metal contact.
This property is useful for conveyor guides, chain rails, wear strips, sliding pads and product-transfer parts.
Many UHMWPE sliding components can operate without continuous oil or grease lubrication. This can simplify routine maintenance and reduce the possibility of lubricant contamination around food-processing and packaging equipment.
Whether additional lubrication is required depends on the load, speed, mating material, temperature and machinery design.
UHMWPE and HDPE absorb very little moisture compared with many conventional engineering materials. This makes them suitable for humid production areas, washing environments and equipment that is cleaned regularly.
Green Food Grade UHMWPE/HDPE Sheet does not rust and resists many commonly encountered acids, alkalis, salts and cleaning solutions.
Compatibility should be checked separately when the component will contact strong oxidizing agents, concentrated chemicals, specialized solvents or elevated-temperature cleaning media.
The smooth, non-rusting surface is suitable for equipment where routine cleaning is required. Components can be machined with rounded corners, smooth transitions and reduced product-catching points according to hygienic equipment-design requirements.
Surface condition, machining marks, joints, fastener positions and cleaning accessibility should be considered when designing parts for controlled food-processing environments.
The uniform green appearance can help distinguish components used in different production areas or equipment lines. It may also make the plastic component easier to identify against surrounding stainless-steel machinery.
Where strict color matching is required, the final green shade should be confirmed using a physical sample, Pantone reference or another agreed color standard.
Green Food Grade UHMWPE/HDPE Sheet can be cut, planed, drilled, turned, milled, grooved and CNC-machined.
Available structures include mounting holes, countersinks, counterbores, adjustment slots, recessed surfaces, curved guides, stepped edges and irregular outside profiles.
Green Food Grade UHMWPE/HDPE Sheet can be processed into food-machinery and packaging-equipment components requiring low moisture absorption, corrosion resistance, wear resistance or easy cleaning.

The listed dimensions are common manufacturing options rather than guaranteed combinations. Maximum length, width and thickness cannot always be produced together in one sheet.
Final specifications should be confirmed according to the selected UHMWPE or HDPE grade, mold capacity, production method, flatness requirement, machining allowance and transportation conditions.
Thin HDPE sheets are suitable for protective covers, equipment separators, lightweight backing panels and general food-machinery surfaces with continuous structural support.
This thickness range is suitable for conveyor strips, guide plates, protective surfaces and lightweight machine components.
Medium-thickness plates are commonly selected for conveyor guides, support pads, machine panels, cutting surfaces and general CNC-machined components.
Thicker material provides additional rigidity, impact resistance and machining allowance for steps, recesses, holes and structural components.
Thick UHMWPE or HDPE material can be processed into large supports, positioning blocks, impact components and deeply machined industrial parts.
Extra-thick UHMWPE material can be evaluated for selected support blocks, impact pads and components requiring deep three-dimensional machining.
Production feasibility depends on the material grade, overall dimensions, cooling requirements, internal stress, machining allowance and required tolerances.
The selected UHMWPE or HDPE resin should be suitable for the intended food-contact application and destination market.
The pigment, stabilizers, processing aids and other additives should be included in the food-contact review. A compliant base resin does not automatically make every colored or modified formulation suitable for food contact.
The intended food type, contact temperature, contact duration and repeated-use conditions should be specified when selecting the material.
Hot, fatty, acidic or alcoholic foods may require different migration and compatibility assessments from dry food or room-temperature applications.
Cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, steam, water temperature and cleaning frequency can affect the long-term suitability of the material.
The complete cleaning procedure should therefore be provided when chemical compatibility or repeated-use performance must be evaluated.
Where food-contact compliance is required, the applicable declaration, resin documentation, migration testing or other supporting records should be confirmed before production.
Requirements can differ between the United States, European Union and other markets. The destination market and applicable standard should be stated in the purchase specification.
Green color can support visual management, but it does not independently confirm food-contact compliance.
The final green formulation must be reviewed as a complete material system. This includes the polyethylene resin, color concentrate, stabilizers, fillers, processing aids and manufacturing controls.
A recycled or reprocessed formulation should not be described as food grade unless the recycling process, source material and intended conditions of use are supported by appropriate documentation.
Available material options may include:
Food-contact, UV-resistant, antistatic and conductive properties are separate functions. One functional description does not automatically confirm the others.
Green Food Grade UHMWPE/HDPE Sheet can be supplied as a full panel, cut-to-size blank or finished component manufactured according to customer drawings.
Available processing services include:
Components intended for food-processing equipment should avoid unnecessary sharp internal corners, inaccessible recesses and structures that can trap food residues or cleaning liquids.
Where appropriate, transitions can be machined with radiused corners and smooth edges to improve cleaning accessibility.
Mounting hardware, joints and metal inserts should also be selected according to the complete hygienic design and cleaning procedure of the equipment.
UHMWPE and HDPE expand and contract more than most metals when temperature changes. Finished dimensions can vary when the operating temperature differs significantly from the inspection temperature.
Large or thick components may require blank stabilization, surface planing, rough machining and precision finishing.
Critical dimensions, reference surfaces, hole positions and tolerances should be clearly marked on the drawing. Final tolerances should be suitable for the selected material, component size, wall thickness and operating-temperature range.
Green Food Grade UHMWPE/HDPE Sheet can be installed using countersunk bolts, recessed fasteners, mechanical clamps, backing plates or equipment-specific mounting structures.
Large panels should be supported evenly. Fasteners should not be excessively tightened because concentrated pressure can cause local deformation around mounting holes.
Where temperature changes are expected, suitable expansion clearance should be included in the installation design.
Panel joints, fastener locations and support structures should be designed to reduce product-catching points and allow effective cleaning.
Quality inspection can be completed according to customer drawings and technical requirements. Typical inspection items include:
