Fabric Covered PP Sheet

Fabric Covered PP Sheet is a polypropylene sheet with a fabric layer on one side or both sides, providing an anchoring surface for composite bonding and fiberglass-reinforced equipment fabrication. Common reference sizes include 1000 × 2000 mm, 1220 × 2440 mm, 1300 × 2000 mm and 1500 × 3000 mm. The reference thickness range is 4–50 mm, with frequently used thicknesses of 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 20 and 30 mm.

Description

Product Description

Fabric Covered PP Sheet is a polypropylene plastic sheet manufactured with a fabric layer on one side or both sides. The fabric-covered surface provides an anchoring and bonding layer for composite fabrication, helping polypropylene sheet combine with fiberglass-reinforced plastic, resin systems or supporting structures. It is commonly used in chemical equipment, electroplating tanks, process vessels, environmental protection equipment and corrosion-resistant composite structures.

Standard polypropylene has a relatively low surface energy, which can make direct bonding with some resin systems difficult. The fabric layer on a Fabric Covered PP Sheet creates a more suitable surface for mechanical anchoring and composite construction. Depending on the equipment design, the sheet can be supplied with single-sided fabric covering or double-sided fabric covering.

Fabric Covered PP Sheet Features

  • Polypropylene sheet with fabric covering on one or both sides
  • Provides an anchoring layer for composite bonding and fabrication
  • Suitable for combining PP sheet with fiberglass-reinforced structures
  • Good resistance to many acids, alkalis and chemical media
  • Low moisture absorption and good corrosion resistance
  • Lightweight compared with many metal lining materials
  • Suitable for cutting, drilling, milling and polypropylene welding
  • Available in different sizes, thicknesses and fabric configurations
  • Can be processed according to equipment drawings and specifications

The fabric layer mainly supports bonding and composite fabrication. It does not replace the polypropylene base material or independently determine the chemical resistance of the finished equipment. Material suitability should still be evaluated according to the chemical medium, concentration, temperature, mechanical load and operating conditions.

Fabric Covered PP Sheet Reference Sizes

Based on the supplied specification information, common reference sizes of Fabric Covered PP Sheet include:

  • 1000 × 2000 mm
  • 1220 × 2440 mm
  • 1300 × 2000 mm
  • 1500 × 3000 mm

The common reference thickness range is approximately 4–50 mm. Frequently selected thicknesses include:

  • 5 mm
  • 6 mm
  • 8 mm
  • 10 mm
  • 12 mm
  • 15 mm
  • 20 mm
  • 30 mm

The dimensions above are reference production sizes rather than guaranteed stock specifications. Actual sheet size, thickness tolerance, fabric structure, colour, minimum order quantity and delivery time should be confirmed before production.

Single-Sided Fabric Covered PP Sheet

A single-sided Fabric Covered PP Sheet has a fabric layer on one surface while the other surface remains standard polypropylene. It is generally selected when only one side of the sheet needs to be bonded to fiberglass-reinforced plastic, resin or another supporting structure.

The exposed polypropylene surface can remain in contact with the process medium, while the fabric-covered side is integrated into the external composite reinforcement. This construction is commonly used for tank linings, equipment panels, corrosion-resistant vessels and composite structural components.

Double-Sided Fabric Covered PP Sheet

A double-sided Fabric Covered PP Sheet has fabric covering on both surfaces. It may be used where both sides require composite bonding, structural reinforcement or connection with other materials. The final configuration should be selected according to the equipment design, fabrication process and installation method.

Single-sided and double-sided products should not be treated as interchangeable without reviewing the equipment structure. Customers should confirm which surface requires fabric covering and clearly mark the fabric position on drawings.

Fabric Covered PP Sheet Applications

Fabric Covered PP Sheet is commonly used in corrosion-resistant equipment and industrial composite fabrication, including:

  • Chemical storage tanks and process tanks
  • Electroplating tanks and pickling tanks
  • Wastewater treatment equipment
  • Industrial scrubbers and exhaust treatment systems
  • Corrosion-resistant ventilation ducts
  • Tank liners and internal partition panels
  • Composite equipment housings and protective covers
  • Fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene structures
  • Custom welded polypropylene equipment
  • Environmental protection equipment components

In many applications, polypropylene provides the chemical-resistant internal surface, while the external composite layer provides additional structural support. The fabric-covered surface helps connect these layers during equipment fabrication.

Fabric Covered PP Sheet Processing

Fabric Covered PP Sheet can be processed through cutting, drilling, milling, routing, grooving, chamfering and polypropylene welding. Special lengths, widths, thicknesses, cut pieces and machined components can be produced according to drawings and actual equipment requirements.

During processing, the fabric layer should be protected from contamination, excessive pulling and unnecessary surface damage. Areas that require polypropylene welding may need the fabric layer to be locally removed or reserved according to the welding structure. Processing methods should be confirmed before production to prevent interference between the fabric layer and the weld joint.

Custom Manufacturing Reference Range

Some public specification tables combine the production range of standard PP sheet, PPH sheet and fabric-covered products. Therefore, values such as a maximum width of approximately 2000 mm and a maximum length of approximately 10000 mm should only be treated as a custom manufacturing reference range.

These maximum dimensions do not represent regular stock sizes for every Fabric Covered PP Sheet. Large-format production depends on the polypropylene grade, thickness, fabric covering method, equipment capacity, transportation conditions and order quantity. Final dimensions must be confirmed according to the actual project.

Material Selection and Ordering Information

When ordering Fabric Covered PP Sheet, customers should confirm the sheet length, width, thickness, colour, fabric type, single-sided or double-sided covering, fabric position, chemical medium, operating temperature and processing requirements. Drawings should clearly identify which surfaces require fabric covering and which areas require welding or machining.
