Custom Polyurethane Disc is a molded or cast elastomer component manufactured for industrial cushioning, protection, positioning, supporting and wear-contact applications. It combines the flexibility of an elastomer with a solid circular structure, allowing it to absorb contact force while maintaining the shape required for equipment installation.

The outside diameter, overall thickness, edge profile, recessed surface, center hole, perimeter mounting holes, hardness and color can be manufactured according to customer drawings, physical samples or confirmed equipment dimensions. Depending on the installation requirements, the disc can be produced as a flat disc, recessed disc, stepped disc, flanged disc or circular cover with positioning and fastening holes.

Custom Polyurethane Disc Structure

A Custom Polyurethane Disc can incorporate a raised outer rim, recessed working surface, central locating hole and evenly distributed mounting holes. These structures can be used to position the component, connect it to a corresponding equipment frame or limit movement after installation.

The outer edge may be designed as a straight wall, rounded edge, chamfered edge, stepped edge or locating flange. The central area can remain solid or be machined with through holes, blind holes, counterbores, threaded inserts or other assembly features.

Products with strict fitting requirements can be finish-machined after molding. CNC turning, milling, drilling, boring, grooving and chamfering can be used to control the diameter, thickness, hole position and fitting surfaces.

Custom Polyurethane Disc Manufacturing

The product can be manufactured by casting or molding polyurethane material in a dedicated mold. Common production stages include mold preparation, raw-material proportioning, pouring or molding, curing, demolding, trimming, finish machining and dimensional inspection.

For products with multiple mounting holes or special positioning structures, the hole diameter, pitch circle, spacing, edge distance and installation direction should be confirmed before production. Critical holes and fitting surfaces can be machined after curing to achieve the required assembly dimensions.

Hardness and Material Selection

Polyurethane hardness should be selected according to the equipment load, required deformation, impact force, operating frequency and contact condition. A softer polyurethane disc generally provides more elastic deformation and cushioning, while a harder disc usually provides stronger support and better dimensional retention under load.

Color alone does not indicate the precise material formulation or hardness. The material grade and hardness should be confirmed through technical specifications, drawings or sample requirements before production.

Operating Environment Considerations

The operating temperature, load, contact pressure, rotational or reciprocating movement, outdoor exposure and contact medium should be confirmed before material selection. Different polyurethane formulations do not provide identical resistance to oils, solvents, acids, alkalis, moisture or elevated temperatures.

For applications involving continuous heavy loads, high temperatures, chemical contact or prolonged outdoor use, the complete operating conditions should be provided before production so that the material formulation and product structure can be evaluated correctly.
